WHATS HAPPENING
We are all gearing up for the Romance Writers of New Zealand coming up inAugust. This is the major event of our writing year.
We get to meet other members, talk writing, learn knew skills and network, network, network.
It is so good to be with people who think like us. Who can talk about writing and books and not feel really weird about some of the things that happen when we
are writing. Who but a writer would understand when you say, 'my characters took hold of my book and wouldn't let me take it where I knew the story should be going.' Who but a writer would know what you were talking about when you mentioned 'line edits', 'deadlines'. 'editing,' etc. Only those people to whom writing is a passion thats who.
So roll on August. I can't wait to get to Auckland, meet up with the good friends that I have made over the years, and talk writing.
Catch up with you again next week, in the meantime, read, write and above all keep warm.
WINTER A TIME TO STAY INDOORS
Why am I telling you this.
Well when the winter is cold isn't that a good time to stay indoors and read and write.
Well thats the theory. Good theory. But for me it hasn't really worked this year. Too many other things getting in the way.
But if you are unlike me and can use this indoor time I urge you to write. Or if reading is your thing then light the fire, turn off the phones and curl up with a good book.
Meanwhile I'll be trying to get my writing muse up and running and finishing the book that has been hovering around for too long.
Speak to you again next week. Happy reading or writing.
The world I live in a lot of the time is about books.
I read them, I write them, and I enjoy them. Most of all I enjoy other people reading my books. As my every day life involves Motorsport and lots of it, this runs over into my writing as well. What is it they say, write about what you know. I know motor racing.
Hopefully, you the reader will soon start enjoying what I write about as well.
Go to my book list to see what is currently available.
