WELCOME TO MY WORLD - THE WORLD OF WRITING

CATCHING UP

Again I must apologise for not updating my website, but as everyone knows life tends to get in the way.  In my case it has been outside work and a husband who has been diagnosed with bowel cancer.   This as you can imagine was devastating but once the initial shock wore off we are now determined that he is going to beat it.  After two operations to remove the cancer he is now going through chemotherapy to remove any traces of it.  Positive thoughts are getting us through.

Now for some good news.  My latest book "Enduring Love" is now available at Whiskey Creek Press.  See my book page for cover, back cover blurb and an excerpt.

SAD NEWS AND EXCITING NEWS

It seems a long time since I have updated my website.  My only excuse is that I have been tied up with a lot of other things.
Since I last was here my dog (mentioned below) died.  This as you can probably imagine was a devastating.  To make matters worse we were away in the South Island on holiday when I got news that he had died.  Not being there was a good thing and a bad thing.  I did not see him suffer but I just wished I could have been with him at the end.  His ashes are now sitting in a lovely box on my desk in my writing office, so really he is still with me and I have his photo as my desktop so get to see him every day when I open my computer.

Now for the exciting news.  I have just had another book accepted by Whiskey Creek Press.  "Enduring Love" is a book that I completed quite some time ago, and I needed to find a home for it.   I don't have any more details on publication etc yet, but watch this space for more details.

ANIMALS AND WRITERS

Have you noticed how many writers seem to be animal lovers?  Is it something that goes together do you think?
Most of them have more than one animal as well.  Some have dogs, some have cats, some have a real menagerie of pets.
What do animal do you have.  Does he want to be with you all the time, especially when you are sitting at the computer.
My dog certainly does.  At 14 he is now starting to slow down, is completely deaf and his eye sight is starting to fail as well.  But as you can see below he is still healthy in all other ways.  In fact when I was outside enjoying the first signs of spring, he was running around like a two year old.
I'd love to hear your animal stories.  Do you as a writer think that we as writers gravitate towards them.  Are they part of our make up.  Is there something within a writer that says, to be complete I must have an animal.  All food for thought.
